RED LINES: LANDSCAPE, SIGNAL & EMPIRE
Evan Roth was born in USA, he lives and works in Berlin. For the last four years, he has focused on his Red Lines project, an ongoing art and research initiative in which he visits internet submarine fiber optic cable landing locations around the globe. This project was awarded a Creative Capital grant and the inaugural Artangel Everywhere commission. Work from the series is available online at http://www.redlines.network/.
At Strasbourg Biennale, Evan Roth presents Landscapes and two works of his series Multi-Touch.
During his talk, Evan Roth will discuss his project Red Lines and his experiences making art at the intersection of network and landscape. The presentation will connect Romance period landscape painting, peer-to-peer networks, infrared photography, social media fatigue and British Imperialism.
